best friends was adorable! i laughed and cried..i am a pet addict..so i could totally relate to the feelings of the woman in this book about loving her animals unconditionally. this book is actually the true life story of a woman who had three bad marriages, all abusive and awful, and how her pets were able to pull her through the dark times and lead her to the great ones.
the end of this book had an amazing metaphor about luggage relating to life; rantoul said she wanted all of her baggage to fit under her seat or i the overhead cabin; she didn't want to have to lug around four huge bags full of useless crap. the way i am saying it sounds sooo cliche, but it was written from a fresh angle that i truly enjoyed and found refreshing.
the animals in this story were extremely love able, my favorites being mandarin orange, the cat, tink, the pug, and trooper, the lab/pit mix.
read this book and understand true friendship!
